Consider

a single bite ripped

and dropped carelessly by one

that never knew hunger.

Who cannot appreciate

the abundant

plentiful perfection

of ruby red forbidden flesh.

Dead, resting outside my door

as if fallen from Eden’s tree

pecked at by the raven

black eying me.

Waiting for my interruption

a passerby at a table

filled

with a ripe carcass

sun-warmed, bloated

abandoned like trash

rotting away.

A guiltless old crow

eating a meal

fit for a king.
